How it works:

Small beams of light pass through the blood in the finger, measuring the amount of oxygen. It does this by measuring changes of light absorption in oxygenated or deoxygenated blood. This is a painless process. The pulse oximeter will thus be able to tell you your oxygen saturation levels along with your heart rate.

Normal arterial oxygen is approximately 75 to 100 millimeters of mercury (mm Hg).

Values under 60 mm Hg usually indicate the need for supplemental oxygen.

Normal pulse oximeter readings usually range from 95 to 100 percent.

Values under 90 percent are considered low.

Hypoxemia: below-normal level of oxygen in your blood, specifically in the arteries.

  • A sign of a problem related to breathing or circulation, and may result in various symptoms, such as shortness of breath.

Easy read with 4 display sides

My thoughts: This is easy to use oxygen meter and clips onto your finger. It uses 2 AAA batteries so it is very portable. I feel that the readings are consistent over a period of two weeks trial. The heart rate readings are also very accurate as I tested it simulataneously with my blood pressure monitor. I have not tried many oximeters yet, so I am writing this review from a first timer point of view. I've been wanting to own my own oximeter because I like to keep track of my oxygen levels during different activities, however, the novelty of it worn off fairly quickly because it's been the same oxygen readings for the most part. Heart rate readings varies.

I picked this color up because there were not many color options available from where I'm from. I would've preferred another color combo, such as white, and pink/lavender so it doesn't look too sporty.

I recommend this gadget for people with COPD, Asthma, Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) and other conditions. Pulse oximetry is a technology used to measure the oxygen level in your blood and your heart rate. A finger pulse oximeter is equipped with technology to rapidly detect changes in your blood oxygen level.

Note: Wearing nail polish may affect readings. Please consult your physician for professional advice.

Have a healthy fantastic day!
